Online Apportionment (or apportionment of expenses) is the distribution of an expense among the Accounting entities that originated it. It usually refers to fixed expenses such as electricity bill, water bill, etc., which are entered every month. Note that these expenses are not production costs.

Management Accounting module features Online Apportionment option in order to avoid repetitive entry of those expenses every month. In this option you can register entries that refer to this apportionment, along with percentages for distribution of values.

Procedures

Including an Online Apportionment:

  1. In maintenance window of Online Apportionment, select Add.

The window Online Apportionments - Add is displayed, divided into the following areas:

  • Header: Apportionment code, description, currency and balance type to be used in the apportionment are entered here.
  • Items: Here you enter information related to accounting entries, such as entry type, debit account, credit account, apportionment percentage, history, currencies in which the apportionment will be performed, debit cost center, credit cost center, debit account item, credit account item, debit value class, credit value class, etc.
  • Footer: Totals, in apportioned percentages, are displayed here (debit total and credit total).
  1. Fill out data according to field help instructions.
  2. Check the data and confirm.

Tip:

Values lower than 100% can be apportioned through field Base Perc.

Example:

Base Percentage: 80%

Amount to be Apportioned: 1000.00

Percentage of Line 001 of Apportionment: 20%

Value apportioned in the accounting entry for Line 001 is:

1000 * (80 / 100) * (20/100) = 160.00
