  • General Consolidation (CTBA220) - Purpose, parameters, uses

CONTENT

01. OVERVIEW

The purpose of the General Consolidation routine - CTBA220 is to export the data of one or more company groups to one or more other company groups. The company groups that will have their data exported are called consolidated. The one that will receive the data is the consolidating.

This routine is usually used to have the consolidated data of some or all company groups, business units, and branches, either for fiscal or management reasons.

The consolidating group of companies must be exclusive for this purpose. You should not use any group of consolidated companies as a consolidating.

02. ROUTINE REQUIREMENTS

This process can be run through procedures for better performance. For this, some prerequisites must be checked by the system user. Below are the prerequisites.

  • 02.1 Pre-requisites needed to run with or without procedures

a. Have an EXCLUSIVE group of companies to be the consolidating

b. Configure the MV_CONSOLD parameter. This parameter must be filled in at the consolidating company group, i.e. at the company where the data will be received.  Assuming that the consolidating company group is "T4", the business unit is "N ", and the branch is "PR 01 ", the parameter must be filled in this manner: MV_CONSOLD ="T4N PR 01 " . If more than one consolidating group exists, fill in separating with "/", MV_CONSOLD = "T4N PR 01 /T5P SP 02".

c. If generating the Initial Balance is required, it is mandatory to have the balances reprocessed in the consolidated company groups. This is because the generation of the initial balance is done by reading the daily balance tables.

  • 02.2 Pre-requisites to benefit from the use of dynamic procedures

a. The number of columns in the tables of the company groups to be consolidated must be exactly the same as in the consolidating company group.

Assuming, for example, that one of the consolidated tables is CT1, all "CT1's" of the company groups involved in the process, consolidated and consolidating, must have exactly the same number of columns with their corresponding names and types respectively.

b. Have the procedure packages p12_01.sps and p12_03.sps with SGBD installed.

03. EXAMPLE OF USE

In this example, we will export the data from table CT1 of the company group "T2L MG 01 / T2R PR 02 " to the company group "T4N PR 01 ".

03.1 - Go to the Configurator module, access the consolidating companies group and inform in parameter MV_CONSOLD = "T4N PR 01 "

a.  Access the consolidating company group

b. Access Records/Parameters and adjust the MV_CONSOLD parameter

03.2 - Access the Management Accounting Module

a. Access the consolidating company group

b.  Go to Miscellaneous/Processes/General Consolidation and select the tables to have the data exported

c. Set and confirm parameters.

04. TABLES
