Speaking of editing document contents...
Content editing allows document files to be edited directly in the repository (folder browsing) or in the user upload area.
You can also edit a document collaboratively, where multiple users can change it at the same time through Google Drive, when this feature is active on the platform. To enable and use this feature, it is first necessary to install the integration artifact and have a Google account. More details can be obtained in Collaborative editing with Google Drive.
Edit document
01. After confirming the document check out, select the application in which you wish to edit it.
When the document is editable through the Webdav protocol, it may be changed in the operating system's default editor. For more information, see the technical documentation Use of WebDav with Windows. To edit document content with .doc or .docx file extensions, for example, the platform uses the MS-WORD protocol. This protocol is installed on the user’s machine during the installation of the MS Office suite. To know if it is installed, the user who wants to edit the content should go to the Windows Default Programs screen and check to see if MS WORD is installed and associated to Word. If it is not installed, the user should restore their MS Office or install a newer version (according to requirements). If the protocol is not available, we recommend using Google Drive for editing, as in the Edit document item in Google Drive.
02. Edit the desired document information.
03. Save the document through the editor.
04. Manually check in the document.
Information on how to perform check in can be obtained at Check in.
Edit document in Google Drive
01. In document browsing, find and select the document from which the content will be edited through Google Drive.
You can edit through Google Drive only documents that have one of the following extensions supported by the feature:
- Documents: doc, docx, odt;
- Spreadsheets: xls, xlsx, ods;
- Presentations: ppt, pptx, odp.
02. Press More options, located on the right side of the document name..
03. Press Edit content.
04. In the message displayed, click Google Drive.
This option only appears when the Collaborative editing feature is active on the platform, being required to have a Google account to use the resource. Pressing this option displays a window in which you must enter the Google account access data. More detailed information on the procedures for document access and editing can be obtained in Edit content collaboratively.
