How does "security inventory control type" work?
Solução
Parameter security inventory control type of program asset maintenance (CD1107) can control this inventory in time and quantity.
If choosing control in time, it will directly affect on the end date (purchase orders) or delivery date (purchase orders).(See explanation in FAQ 132).
In EMS2.0, there is a possibility of converting security time in security inventory days.(See explanation in FAQ 869).
If choosing control by quantity, this can be, moved or all (product Magnus I) and demand or quantity (product EMS2.0).
Parameter all (Magnus) or quantity (EMS2.0) is targeted to customer that, even that the item had no need in the short run, wish to purchase or produce for inventories, getting prepared for an eventual future need. In this case, calculation of planning (PL0501) generates a committed requirement on the date that calculation was executed. If this requirement is detailed in inquiry of calculation layout (PL0704), description "security inventory" will appear.
Parameters moved (Magnus) or demand (EMS2.0) is targeted to customers that, even being with inventory below the security quantity, prefer to wait until some need appears (purchase or production order, orders, requirements) to put together with the security quantity and process two necessities at the same time. With this parameterization type, calculation generates a requirement committed for the first date where a necessity is found.
We point out that in both cases, committed requirement is generated, but only one planned order will be suggested if the quantity on inventory is below the security quantity. So, in the available that appears with zero or a quantity lower than security, there is no error, because committed requirement already ensures security inventory, by taking it out of available.
