Formulae

The formulae are available in the Product Specification Operations' Test attachments. Use these formulae to create tests with specific controls, such as: time (measured in hours and dates), inches, simple operations (additions, subtractions, multiplications, and divisions), averages, square roots, etc.

Find the field for input in the Specification Registries' test, Formula field.

The values obtained through formulae are automatically calculated by the system and inserted in their respective fields, according to each test's value measurements; as long as there is a \"totalizer\" test, that is, with a formula which calculates based on previously entered test values.

This registry displays only those tests with the positioned test's same lab.

Procedures

To check tests:


1. Add a calculated test, wherein the Type field equals 1 - Calculated in LABQUI - Chemical Lab.



2. Add a calculated test, wherein the Type field equals 2 - Typed in LABFIS - Physics Lab.



3. Now check the lab's displayed tests.

Thus, for the calculated test utilizing measurement to enable the Formulae screen's display, there must be a previous test entry, given that, as a calculated test, it utilizes previous tests' results.


 

Some necessary observations:


You must create a test in the Test Registry, specific for use with formulae, with certain fields configured for each calculation type, as shown in the following illustration. Most importantly, the test must be of the calculated type.

For measurements in inches, you can normally create a formula with simple operations. However, the total face value is displayed in decimal places, not in the measurement's format (4/64i).


 

The calculation formulae to be registered in product specification, upon calculated test definition, obey the following criteria:


Addition


Adds each measurement line. 
Example:

The CALC test is the sum of ENS1 and ENS2 tests, which respectively contain 4 and 5 measurements.


CALC = ENS1 + ENS2


So that:


ENS1 -> has 4 measurements



ENS2 -> has 5 measurements


In the CALC test calculation, there are 4 measurements, which can be added in pairs, with concomitant lines.

The 5 measurement ENS2 test's 5th measurement is rejected, for there is no corresponding measurement to pair it with.


Subtraction


Follows same rules as addition, except for its use of subtraction operation.


Multiplication


Follows same rules as addition and subtraction, except for its use of multiplication operation.


Division


Follows same rules as addition and subtraction, except for its use of multiplication operation.


Square Root


When the requested test calculation is a square root, it applies to each of the test's defined measurements.

Example:

RQ1 test -> 8 measurements -> 8 square roots applied to each measurement.


Absolute Value


Follows same rule as square root, except for its use of absolute value operation.


Average


The average is calculated based on the sum of all values obtained from each test measurement, divided by the number of measurements.

Example:

MED1 test -> has 5 measurements.

Standard Deviation


The standard deviation calculation follows the following rules:
