Resources
Resources are items that consume capital, such as number of employees, raw material, amount of equipment, consumption of electricity, water, time, etc.
When productivity is measured, involving all resources at the same time is hard. Thus, they must be measured separately. Labor productivity, for example, is the relation between the amount produced by a group of people and the sum of hours worked by these people.
The unit that expresses labor productivity is amount per man-hour (units/mh). It means a measure of employees' work capacity.
If a company manufacturers 800 units by using ten people during eight work hours, labor productivity is ten units per man-hour, corresponding to 800/(10x8). It means that a man, working for an hour, manufactures ten units.
Hence, resource is any physical element (men, machines, cost centers, etc.) responsible for performing operations of product transformation. In this option, calendar is also defined to be available for use.
Secondary or Alternative Resource
In this routine, you can add a secondary/alternative resource for the registered resource. A secondary/alternative resource can be used if the main resource does not exist (usually used for work).
Secondary/alternative resources can also be registered directly in Operations, where its efficiency concerning the main resource can be entered.
Example:
The labor resource Assembly was registered as an assembly resource and as an alternative resource for packing at the same time because the employee in charge of assembly was trained to pack the product if the labor resource Packing is not available.
However, this employee is not as skilled as an employee in charge of packing regarding packing a product. Thus, the performance is 80% in relation to the main resource work.
It means that if the secondary/alternative resource is used to pack products, the time for performing the task is longer than the time used in the main resource. These data are used, for example, to calculate the processing of Machine Load.
Procedures
Adding resources:
1. | In Resources, select Add. |
The Add screen is displayed, subdivided into two parts. In the upper part of the screen, data are filled out for the main resource that is registered. In the lower part, data of secondary/alternative resource, if there is any.
However, note that, to register a secondary/alternative resource, this resource must have already been previously registered as a main resource.
2. | Fill out data according to field help instructions. |
3. | Check data and confirm the inclusion. |
Important: The modules SIGAPCP (Production Planning and Control) and SIGADPR (Product Developer) are integrated by enabling the parameter MV_INTDPR=1. When an operation of inclusion, change or deletion is made in SIGAPCP, it is replicated in SIGADPR module. |
Shop Floor Integration
With integration, the resource data (PCP) are copied to the SFC machine register. In this register, the Work Center field is required.
By adding or editing a resource, all alternative/secondary resources are validated, checking if it belongs to the same resource WC that is being changed. If any of it does not belong, an alert message is displayed and you are allowed to continue.
Procedures
Shop Floor Integration Operations:
1. | In Resource Maintenance, all existing resources are displayed. |
2. | When SIGASFC is activated, Alternative/Secondary Resources entered must belong to the same Resource Work Center. |
