Product Group (MATA035 - SIGAEST)
Product Group (MATA035 - SIGAEST)

In materials management, it is important to classify the products according to their common characteristics, for example, shape standard, weight, type, use, dimension, etc.

When products are gathered in groups, it is easier to select them for processing operations, query generation and report issuing. It is easier even to identify products requiring a special treatment, for example, special handling, storage conditions and proper package. Once you enter the group or range of groups, all products within the group are considered.

Another advantage it the possibility to organize report data, breaks and totals by products group.

This routine creates products groups, assigning a code and description to them. Once the groups are registered, whenever a product is added, you can select the group it belongs to. Therefore, in routines having parameterization by product group, you can enter a range of groups to consider all products within them.

The products can be added anytime, whenever a new class of products with common characteristics is detected.

The system already has a few groups registered, which are often used, using codes from 0001 to 0007. This records are displayed only as a suggestion, so they can be changed or even deleted.

Integration between the SIGAPCP module (Production Planning and Control) and the SIGADPR (Product Developer) occurs by enabling the MV_INTDPR=1 parameter. When an add, edit or delete operation is performed in the SIGAPCP, they are replicated in the SIGADPR module.

Repair Shops, Vehicles and Parts Modules

For the Dealers environments - Repair Shops, Vehicles and Parts - this routine is named Parts Groups. Additionally to the features mentioned, it is noteworthy that Parts Group is a basic element for composing parts codes.

Procedures

Registering a products group:

...

    • Code / Description

Enter product code and product description. For Dealership modules, it is suggested to add a prefix identifying the brand, plus one or two characters indicating the group type, as follows:

Example: MBG – Mercedes Benz Genuine

    • Standard Picture for Part Group (edition mask)

...

Example: @R 999-!!!/9

    • Origin of Parts gathered in this Group

Enter the origin of parts gathered in this group, whether original and non-original.

    • Status of Parts gathered in this Group

Enter the status of parts gathered in this group, whether New, Refurbished or Recycled. As the name suggests, new parts are those which have never been used; refurbished parts are those which have been through a refurbishing process and can be used or sold again; and recycled parts are those from junkyards but can be normally used/sold.

    • Brand

Enter the brand code for this group.

Example: BRAND: FT - Fiat

    • Related Groups

Enter the codes of groups related to the one being created or maintained. This allows you to enter an item and view all items related to it during a query, a quotation or parts request. For this, you must enter the groups of related items in this field and at least part of their codes must be the same.

Example:

Original group = VWO

Related groups = VWP /OM

When querying item VWO 123456, if the items VWP 123456 or OM 123456 exist, they are displayed because they are related.

    • Group Type

Enter the group type. This is important and mandatory for some routines, such as results and analysis reports, quotations and service orders closing. You can fill it out as:

      • 1 - Parts
      • 2 - Lubricants and Fuels
      • 3 - Tires and Inner Tubes
      • 4 - Services
      • 5 - Other brands
      • 6 - Direct application
      • 7 - Vehicles
      • 8 - Original accessories
      • 9 - Non-original accessories
      • 10 - Used engines
      • Mark-Up

Enter the multiplicative coefficient to be used to readjust the selling price for parts of this Group. This is usually used for Non-original parts, once Original Parts are readjusted by electronic integration, using the assembler's file through EDI.

...

NPV = New Selling Price

CUP = Part Unit Cost = ( Price Paid – ICMS + IPI )

(the cost is automatically obtained from the purchase)

...

NPV = CUP * CMK

    • Key Length for Related Code

Enter the key/common code length to be considered in the relationship (common part of the code). This is used when the original part code is the same as the non-original part code, or when you enter an identification at the end of the code to indicate the part supplier/origin. Thus to relate both items, the system disregards the identification after the last digit of the common code, seeking the parts among related groups.

Example:

Consider the code of the two parts: SCG 0189352 and SCP 0189352/P14

Disregarding /P14, which was added to the second code (Non-original part), to identify the origin, the system compares up to the 7th character, so both codes are the same. Therefore, 07 is the length of the key.

4. Check data and confirm the addition.
