As an example of binding, suppose that the company needs to ensure that the account Administrative Expenses - Salaries (3.3.3.214) is entered with the following Cost Centers:
Other Cost Centers of the company CANNOT be entered in this account.
Binding Register
First, the following binding must be created:
Bind Code | Description |
001 | Bind Adm. Expen. |
Chart of Accounts
In order to make the first part of binding, you must configure in, the Chart of Accounts Register, the field Rule Level 1:
Account | Rule Level 1 |
333214 | 001 |
Thus, you indicate that this account must be entered with cost centers containing the field Cnt Rule Lev1.
Cost Center Register
In Cost Center Register, you must fill out the field Cnt Rule Lev 1:
Cost Center | Cnt Rule Lev1 |
1001 | 001 |
1003 | 001 |
Accounting Entry
When the accounting entry is made, data bound to it are validated, so that the entry is allowed or not.
Tip: The system default is to leave the binding fields blank and hence, if one of the entities DOES NOT have the binding field filled out, the system passes the accounting entry without validating the bindings. To validate the accounting entries, BOTH entities involved must have the binding field filled out. |
