Purpose

The purpose of this guide is to present the requirements, settings and procedures required to install fluig Connect.

About fluig Connect

The fluig Connect application allows you to access fluig documents on which you have permission, without having to access fluig: the application features an objective and user-friendly interface to help manage documents with key features, as follows:

Documents: allows you to access fluig documents and use a local repository to upload and download documents, making it easier to manage documents.

Notifications: allows you to keep track of fluig notifications on your desktop.

Introduction

The installer developed for fluig Connect is fast and very easy to use. It has been configured to identify whether the target computer has the minimum requirements to install the software.

Requirements

Fluig Connect was developed only for the Microsoft platform using the .NET development platform provided by Microsoft. That is why it is necessary to meet some of that platform’s component requirements so that fluig Connect works in perfect harmony with the operating system.

Important

As a requirement for use, fluig Connect version must be equal to or lower than the fluig platform version.

Please note!

We recommend you install and configure .NET Framework 4.5.2 or higher for fluig Connect to work properly.



Certified browsers

Internet Explorer 9 or higher (it is used for the notification center)

Supported operating systems

Windows XP or higher (Windows 10 is under approval)

Runtime

.NET Framework v4.5.2 or higher

Downloading the installer

To get the best out of the 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, specific installers have been developed for each platform. 

To download the installer, go to fluig customer portal

Installing fluig Connect 

After downloading the installer, double click the executable .msi file to start the installation.

Here are the steps to install fluig Connect:


    License Agreement shows the product license agreement containing the terms of use, copyright and installation recommendations, which should be read carefully.
    To proceed, check the “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” option and then click Install. 

    Note

    By checking the option “I accept the terms in the License Agreement”, the user confirms that they agree to the terms in the product license agreement.

    The files will be copied to the installation target folder.

    After completing the installation process, click Finish.

    Batch installing fluig Connect

    It is also possible to batch install fluig Connect by sending parameters to configure the fluig server. Thus, it is not necessary to configure the fluig server when the user first accesses it.


     Here are the steps to install fluig Connect with parameters:


      Open the notepad and add the following command line:

      msiexec  /i <INSTALADOR>.msi HOST=fluig.server.com  PORT=8080

      Parameters:

      • HOST: fluig server address. Example: HOST=fluig.server.com.
      • PORT: access port to the fluig server. This parameter is optional.  Example: PORT = 8080.
      • INSTALLER: name of the downloaded MSI installer.

      Save it as a batch (.bat) file in the same directory as the installer.

      Example: setup.bat.

      To run the batch file, double click it and follow the installer’s instructions. For more details, go to Installing fluig Connect (installer).

      After the installation, it is not necessary to configure the fluig server upon the first access.


      Installing fluig Connect using GPO

      For information about how to install fluig Connect via GPO, see the instructions directly from Microsoft website at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/816102.

      How to enable fluig Connect in fluig

      After the installation steps are complete, it is necessary to configure some settings.

      The steps to enable fluig Connect in fluig are as follows:


        Access fluig with the “wcmadmin” user.

        From the main menu, access the Control Panel, and then click the ECM tab.

        Click the option fluig Connect.

        • Check the option “Enable fluig Connect?”.
        • Then enter the transport limit via HTTP (in megabytes).
        • Click Save.

        How to configure fluig Connect 

        When accessing fluig Connect for the first time, you are required to define some basic settings before starting using it.

        Here are the procedures required when first accessing fluig Connect:


          First access

          • Upon the first access or when configuring the fluig server, users are required to define the minimum settings to use fluig Connect.
          • The server address screen is displayed. Enter the server address in “Enter your account address” and click “Start”.

          • In many cases, you are required to configure proxy use to access fluig information.
          • In order to access proxy settings, click the gear icon located in the upper right corner, as shown in the image below.

          • The Proxy tab features three proxy settings options:
          1.  
            1. No proxy: default option, used when proxy services are not required;
            2. Automatic detection: option to use the operating system’s proxy settings. This option uses the Internet Explorer proxy settings;
            3. Manual: option to manually edit proxy settings.
          • Click OK after adjusting the settings.

          In the General tab, you can configure fluig Connect to start up along with the operating system. To do so, simply select the “Run fluig Connect during system start-up” option.

          After the authentication process, you will be redirected to the fluig Connect explorer screen.

          Fluig Connect - Preferences

          Follow the steps below to define fluig Connect preferences:


            You can adjust the settings configured for the first access later, on the Preferences screen. Simply access it from the top menu, Preferences option.


            The General tab shows the user name and image configured in fluig. This tab also shows the fluig server address. To change the fluig server, click “End Session” and the server settings screen will be displayed, as explained in the “How to configure fluig access in fluig Connect” section.



            In the General tab, optionally you can configure whether to perform fluig notifications on your desktop. To do so, simply select the “Display notifications” option.



            Optionally, in the general tab, you may also configure the default fluig Connect language by clicking the Language combo.



            Optionally, you may configure your local document management repository in the Proxy tab. By default, fluig Connect automatically creates a default directory named fluig Connect in the user’s personal directory.

            To change it, simply click “Select” and choose the directory of your choice.



            In the Proxy tab, you can also configure fluig Connect to start up along with the operating system. To do so, simply select the “Run fluig Connect during system start-up” option.


            The Proxy tab features three proxy settings options:

            1) No proxy: default option, used when proxy services are not required;

            2) Automatic detection: option to use the operating system’s proxy settings. This option uses the Internet Explorer proxy settings;

            3) Manual: option to manually edit proxy settings.

            Click OK after adjusting the settings.



            In the Synchronize tab, you can choose the directory on your computer where to save the documents, in the Location field. You can change the directory by using the Change button.

            You can also choose the versioning from three options:

            • New version: creates a new version of the document
            • New review: creates a new review of the document
            • Keep version: keeps the same version of the document

            In addition to defining the time for checking the synchronization folder.


            Installation Requirements 

            Here are the steps to install the necessary requirements for fluig Connect to work properly.

            Installing .NET Framework v4.5.2


              Download .NET at https://www.microsoft.com/pt-br/download/details.aspx?id=42642
