Check out the new features available in the fluig 1.5.8 update:

LMS

View all pending items when completing a training course

Whenever a student tries to complete a training course that still has pending items, the system now shows a message listing all pending items and types, allowing students to easily correct them.

Enhanced usability and performance of the learning environment Start tab

The learning start area now has separate panels – one for classes in progress and another for training/tracks in progress –, enhancing the overall viewing experience and performance of learning items.

Training authorization with pre-tests pending grading

Pre-tests are important parameters to gauge student conditions before training courses. That is why these tests are usually required before initiating training courses. But what about pre-tests with essay questions? Before this update, students could only start training courses after the test was graded by an instructor – which could sometimes take a while.

As requested by our customers, we created a new option that allows students to start training courses before test essay questions are graded. This new option allows students to complete training courses much faster, whenever the “Authorize training with pre-tests pending grading by instructor” option is enabled in the training registration.

In case of non-mandatory pre-tests, students can also watch and complete training courses before tests are graded.

In both cases – mandatory or non-mandatory pre-tests – all training-related items such as skills and certificates, among other items for which the respective training course is as a requirement, will only be cleared after the pre-tests are graded.

New methods to block/unblock registrations in the Public API

Platform developers now have access to new student registration blocking/unblocking methods available in the fluig Public API, which can be used by students seeking to lock, quit or resume a certain discipline or training. Check it out:

Registration of user groups in classes, tracks and training courses

The new “createGroupRequest” method is now available in the registration API of LMS. This method allows registering user groups in classes, tracks or training courses. More details on this new method are available in the Public API.

Social

Enable or disable the user wizard feature

The user wizard is a standard feature, representing users’ first step in fluig, created specifically for cases in which the fluig Social card is used.

Administrators can now enable or disable the wizard. Fluig administrators simply go to the Control Panel, General tab, Parameters and check or uncheck the Enable wizard upon first user access option.

Deleting old notifications

A brand new notification cleanup scheduling feature has been added to enhance the overall performance of the Notification Center and free up disk space. Simply go to Control Panel > Social > Notifications and set the time period and rules to delete old notifications of all platform users.

After upgrading to the 1.5.8 version, the platform will delete all notifications read by users and more than six months old.

Administrators must disable this feature to prevent these notifications from being deleted.

Articles with FLV videos

In addition to the broad range of features available to create contents under community articles, users now have the option to use FLV videos as well. Pretty cool, right?

Flexible profile image editing

The new beforeSocialPictureChange and afterSocialPictureChange events were added to intercept changes in user and community images and customize user behavior.

Go to the Social customization events tab for more details.

SDK: support for social events

Social customization events can now use SDK component services.

Go to SDK component and Public API Service Use for more information.

BPM

Dynamic request processing

Remember those times when you wanted to make additions to requests you created or followed, in order to provide a new contact method or warn the person in charge that the process needed to move forward faster? Well, fluig’s process communication has now become much more dynamic and fast, allowing users to add text or new attachments to requests regardless of the respective process activity.

This setting is applied for each process, allowing the person responsible for the process to choose the best option for each demand by enabling the “Allow request add-ons?” option under the General tab of the process Properties. The following options are available:

Don’t forget to confirm which notifications will be generated when creating a new message as a process add-on in the Follow-up tab.

Easy process importing in fluig

Users often need to quickly share processes created in fluig. Fluig administrators can now export processes directly through the browser. Simply select the process to be exported in the process settings window and click the new Export option. The following artifacts are exported through this option:

All of these artifacts are compressed into a ZIP file, which can also be imported into fluig Studio: simply right-click project browsing, select Import and click Import process to import data directly into an existing project or create a new project.

Whenever you need help with your process – either to sent it to your fluig developer or fluig customer service –, use this ZIP file to make sure your process is quickly processed.

Architecture

User Log - easier error pinpointing

The greater the platform use, the more data is stored in the log, which makes it difficult to know exactly which user was responsible for actions that generated errors.

Fluig administrators can now conveniently monitor actions of specific users based on a separate log file, which contains all user actions performed after the next authentication process. After enabling this feature, the log file can be downloaded in the same page, as well as the complete server log.

From now on, whenever a user reports issues and administrators cannot pinpoint the exact problem, all they have to do is enable this new option and monitor the data to identify situations that may potentially compromise the user’s experience in the platform. Go to Control Panel > GeneralLog control to check out the new feature.

Platform users can also enable log generation for themselves by enabling the new feature in Settings > Edit profile > Additional information.

After administrators enable user logs, such logs will only be generated after the respective user’s next platform authentication process. Therefore, ask the user to logoff and login again to record all actions performed by the user. Administrators can also configure the user log expiration time.

However, user logs enabled by the users themselves are generated immediately after the feature is enabled and expire at 11:59 p.m. of the same day.
